한국의 암기 문법위주의 수업은 방향이 잘못되었다고 하네요

어제 대한민국의 모든 시선이 쏠렸던 College Scholastic Ability Test가 있었습니다. 어제 시험을 의식했는지 스위스에 있는 한 영어교육관련 회사가 한국 영어실력에 등수를 매기고 그에 대한 논평을 했습니다.

전체적인 내용은 “한국의 암기+문법위주의 영어교육 방향이 잘못됐다”. 라는 말을 합니다. 전 여기에 더해서 “제대로 된 암기식 문법교육도 아니기에 문제가 더 생긴다.”입니다. 외국 전문기관이 봤을 때 무엇이 문제인지 함 알아보도록 하지요.그리고 필리핀에서 공부하는 지금, 잘못된 한국식 영어교육 방식에서 벗어나는 것 이라는 것에 자부심을 가져야 되겠습니다

Korea Gets "B-" on English Proficiency

Despite the nation´s obsession with English language education, Korea didn´t quite 1) make the grade in the category in a recent report.

A Switzerland-based global English education company ranked Korea 24th out of 60 countries in terms of English ability for a grade of "B-."

The report said (that) Korea came up short / because English education tends 2) to put all its eggs in the memorization and grammar basket, 3) as opposed to communication skills.

~에도 불구하고 로 시작되는 문장입니다. 보통 이렇게 despite 나 Although 등으로 시작하게되면 쉼표 앞과 뒤의 내용이 상반되게 해석하셔야 합니다. quite는 그냥 완전히 전적으로, 꽤 상당히 의 뜻을 가지고 있습니다.
