Iran has 1)agreed to reduce its nuclear activity and allow greater access for international inspectors in historic talks in Geneva. 이란이 동의했다 ~~~ 그리고 허용했다.

In return, the world powers will offer some relief from 2)financial sanctions. The agreement creates a six-month trial period. 그에 대한 보답으로 금융제재 완화. 합의는 만들었다~

But behind the scenes, it has now been revealed, the US and Iran *have been engaged in secret face-to-face talks for months, in Oman and elsewhere.
전화통화 전에  물밑 협상이 있었다는 말을 하고 있습니다.

 The Associated Press news agency says (that) they were 5)kept hidden even from America´s allies and negotiating partners until two months ago.

It was a high stakes diplomatic gamble. While Israel argues [that the deal (which was) reached in Geneva is dangerously skewed 6)in favour of Iran], most of Iran´s Arab neighbours are clearly uneasy too. [ 와 ] 는 앞의 동사 argues의 목적어 역할을 하는 명사절이고 While 이 쓰인 것은 이스라엘이 싫어하고 아랍애들도 싫어하더라는 말을 나타낸다. 이러한 문장에서 while 자리가 비어있고 적당한 것을 찾으라고 하면, 영락없이 틀리기 십상이다.

But This agreement is likely to face many more severe tests. If a more comprehensive nuclear agreement is to be achieved, and Iran´s relationships in its 7)volatile region and with the rest of the world are to return to normal.
이 합의는 많은 엄격한 테스트에 직면할 것 같다. 만약 ~ 한다면, 이란이 변덕스러운 지역(일촉측발의 지역) ~ ~~~ 일상으로 돌아갈 것이다.

오늘은 국제 정세에 관련된 기사로 시작해보도록 하겠습니다.

대강의 내용은 이란이 서방과의 핵협상에서 핵사찰 혹은 감시를 받아들이겠다고 했고 서방측에서도 경제재재를 완화시켜주겠다는 것으로 화답했는데, 이 협상은 지난 몇 달간 숨겨진 채로 진행되었고 이스라엘이 반발하고 이란과 그 주변 국가들도 협상의 내용에 그다지 썩 좋은 반응은 아니라는 내용입니다. 세부적인 협상이 남아있어서 앞으로 어떻게 될지가 주목된다. 이런 식으로 해석해보시면 될 것 같습니다.

저는 나머지 6개월간의 협상이 잘 끝나서 중동이 화약고가 아니라 평화지대가 되었으면 합니다. 겨울에 기름값 내리면 좋잖아! 비행기 티켓값도 내려가고.
