People are changing Earth so much, warming and polluting it, that many scientists are turning to a new way to describe the time we live in.

사람들은 지구를 온난하게 만들고 오염시키며 너무나도 많이 변화시키고 있어서 많은 과학자들은 우리가 살고 있는 시대를 묘사할 새로운 방법 쪽으로 관심을 돌리고 있다.

They´re calling it the Anthropocene - the age of humans.

But the way humans and their industries are altering the planet, especially its climate, has caused an increasing number of scientists to use the word Anthropocene to better describe when and where we are.

"Never in its 4.6 billion-year-old history has the Earth been so affected by one species as it is being affected now by humans," said W.John Kress, acting undersecretary of science for the Smithsonian.
