Trump decides to pull U.S. out of ´very unfair´ Paris agreement

 Donald Trump, making good on a campaign promise, is pulling the U.S. from the Paris accord.
 "The Paris Accord is very unfair at the highest level to the United States."
 The historic climate agreement between 195 countries is aimed at curbing carbon emissions.

The U.S. now joins the only two other non-participants on Earth - Nicaragua and Syria.
 Trump and his supporters often describe climate change as a hoax devised to weaken American industry.
 But many top corporate executives urged the president to stay in the agreement -- at least to  exert influence  in climate talks.
 Exiting the deal will deepen a rift with U.S. allies.

As reports surfaced in recent days that Trump would pull out,

 world leaders stepped up to reaffirm their commitment to the agreement.
 The pact was the first legally binding global deal to fight climate change.

U.S. supporters of the pact said any pullout by Trump would represent an abdication of American leadership and would show that the United States cannot be trusted to  follow through  on international commitments.
 Scientists have said a withdrawal could speed up the effects of global climate change,

leading to heat waves, floods, droughts, and more frequent violent storms.

 Last year was the warmest since records began in the 19th century.
 Some states, like California, Washington and New York, have vowed to continue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions regardless.

도널드 트럼프는 파리 기후 협약을 탈퇴하므로써 선거 공약을 지켰습니다.

"파리 협약은 미국에 매우 불공평합니다."

195개국이 합의한 기후 협약은 탄소 배출량을 억제하기 위한 것이다.

미국은 현재 지구상에 오직 2개국 만이 남아있는 비참가국의 대열에 합류했습니다.

트럼프와 지지자들은 종종 기후 변화 협약을 

미국 산업을 약화시키기 위해 고안된 속임수라고 묘사한다.
그러나 많은 고위 기업 간부들은 대통령에게

최소한 기후 회담에서 영향력을 행사하기 위해서라도 - 그 협약을 준수하라고 촉구했습니다.

파리기후 협약을 탈퇴하는 것은 미국의 동맹국들과의 불화를 심화시킬 것이다.

최근에 트럼프가 탈퇴할 것이라는 보도가 나가고 세계 지도자들은 그 협약에 관한 의무를 다할 것임을 재확인한다는 입장을 표명했다.

그 협약은 기후 변화에 맞서 대응하기 위한 최초의 법적 구속력이 있는 국제 협정이었다.  

협약의 탈퇴는 미국이 리더십을 포기한다는 것을 의미하는 것이며 미국이 국제 협약에 대한 이행 여부와 관련해 신뢰받을 수 없다는 것을 보여주는 것이라고 말했다.

과학자들은 이러한 행위는 지구 기후 변화의 영향을 가속화시킬 수 있으며,

폭염, 홍수, 가뭄 그리고 더 빈번한 폭우를 악화할 수 있다고 말해왔다.

지난 해는  가장 무더운 한 해였고.

캘리포니아, 워싱턴 그리고 뉴욕과 같은 몇몇 주들은 트럼프의 파리기후협약 탈퇴선언에도 불구하고 온실가스 배출량을 계속 줄여가겠다고 약속했습니다.
