Samgyupsal House - Korean Restaurant in Baguio City

There are many Korean restaurants nowadays in Baguio City.

Sometimes it´s difficult to decide which one to go to,

because one may have a certain specialty dish that another does not.

Samgyeopsalis “pork belly”in Korean.

I think it is the same as “liempo” in the Philippines.

Here in Korea, it’s best eaten grilled, seasoned with ssam jang and then wrapped in a lettuce leaf.

Samgyeopsal House & Cafe is no exception to the rule.

What this place has to offer that all other Korean restaurants I´ve visit thus far does not have is the Jangeo Gu-i (grilled eel 500) and Pan Fry Duck (300), or my favorite, Roast Duck (350).

When you eat at a Korean Restaurant, samgyeopal is a must have.

It´s a no-brainer decision.

The tender pork belly, if grilled just right, remains juicy. Oh, how I love me some pork!!

And though I love pork, I love roast duck as equally, if not, more so than pork.

I every much enjoyed the well salted and the smokiness flavor the duck has.

It´s remains succulent even after it´s been cooked twice; by smoking and grilled on a hot ceramic grill, where in you can see most of the fat being drained.

I can´t describe enough how delicious, but sinful this particular entree is.

Any order you place at Samgyeopsal House & Cafe comes with unlimited sides.

Sides, except kimchi varies depending on what´s available at the market.

I implore any one visiting Baguio, or residents of Baguio who haven´t been to Samgyeopsal House & Cafe to try their roast duck!

The only downside, which is the only reason why I´m giving this establishment a 4/5 is because all grilled items has a 2 order minimum--no exceptions.

Happy Eating!!!

If you order both samgyeopsal and duck, cook the duck first and save the drained duck fat! You can use it to flavor the samgyeopsal when grilling. It adds a lot of depth and flavor to the pork!
