My body is made of wood

As soon as I go out my house, I hit my head on the wall of the house and die soon. Though the lighter was invented, I was used for making fire. So when you smoke, you use me. I consist of a small head and a long body. My head is roundish and generally red. My body is made of wood. I usually live in a boxlike house. My house is full of my friends.
