LA TRINIDAD STRAWBERRY FARM

Simply, the place is called Strawberry Farm. Cradled in a plain in La Trinidad Valley in Benguet, it is located nearly 30 minutes away from Baguio City, which has become almost synonymous with strawberries.

Benguet is a high altitude province located at the southern part of Cordillera Administrative Region. The province's well known cool climate and highlands are conducive for harvesting different kinds of farm produce and fruits such as strawberries.

Here, you'll find plots of strawberries alongside vegetables and flowers. You can buy strawberries here for P250-P300 per kilo. If you want to pick the berries yourselves, prepare to shell out additional P200.

A lane of souvenir stores border one side of the farm. You'll find anything strawberry here -strawberry wine, strawberry jam, strawberry crinkles.

Taho is a soy-based Filipino snack made from silken tofu usually topped with sago pearls (similar to tapioca pearls) and covered with arnibal (caramelized brown sugar syrup). Their taho is drizzled with strawberry syrup topped with fresh strawberries.

Strawberry picking "Baguio style" is an experience well worth it as it is the stuff that warm childhood memories are made of -- priceless even!

How to get to Strawberry Farm: From Baguio City, the fast and easy way is a cab. But that's wise only if you are a group of at least 3 because you will be splitting the cost. If budget is a problem, make your way to Baguio City Hall and ride a jeepney bound for La Trinidad. Ask the driver to drop you off at Strawberry Farm. Fare is P12.
